En el mes de noviembre del año 2005 en la ciudad de Mar del Plata tuvieron lugar la Cuarta Cumbre de las Américas y la Tercera Cumbre de los Pueblos. A partir de un ciclo de entrevistas con voces protagonistas de aquellos eventos trascendentales en la historia de la ciudad, el Centro de Estudios Sociohistóricos de América Latina y la Subsecretaría de Comunicación de la Facultad de Humanidades de la UNMdP se propusieron recuperar la historia y memoria de aquellas jornadas que pusieron a la ciudad de Mar del Plata en el epicentro político del continente americano.
